Troubleshooting the Web Preview Feature (continued)

See this tip for more information on trouble-shooting the web preview feature.

The ESET NOD 32 security program has a setting that will prevent port 80 from being used. This is the port that is used by the web preview task in Domino Designer. This setting needs to be turned off to allow the web preview feature to work. You can temporarily disable HTTP traffic scan, start nhttp and then re-enable the scan (if desired). This tip only applies if you use the ESET NOD32 Antivirus program.

Disabling the ESET NOD 32 HTTP Traffic Scan

  1. From the main window of the ESET NOD32 Antivirus program, click the Antivirus and antispyware link in the left pane as highlighted in the image.

  2. Click Configure... under the 'Web access protection' section.

  3. Un-check the 'Enable HTTP checking' option as shown in the image below.

  4. Click [OK] to save the new settings and close the dialog.

Once you are able to start the local HTTP task, you can go back in to the ESET NOD32 settings and re-enable the HTTP checking if desired.
