New Features in Design Lists

Release 7 introduces several new features in design lists. This tip covers the following:

    • New column header icons
    • Changes to the Name, Alias and Comment columns

New Column Header Icons

By replacing several column header titles with column header icons, space is conserved and more information is displayed in the Designer 7 design lists. The following image shows the new column header icons in the Forms design list. The table that follows the image describes these column header icons.

    • Nothing to indicate that the action does not use an icon

The Agents design list includes two additional column headers. The following image shows the new column headers in the Agents design list. The table that follows the image describes these column headers and their icons.

    • This icon indicates that the agent is triggered from the Agent List

Changes to the Name, Alias and Comment Columns

The Name, Alias and Comment columns can be directly edited in the design lists. To edit a Name, Alias, or Comment click on the text and edit it. Note that changing any of these values will cause that design element to replicate just as if it was opened and saved.

In addition, the following changes apply to the Comment column:

    • In previous releases the Comment was displayed on a separate line after the design element. The design lists are compressed in Release 7 with the Comment displayed on the same line with its design element.
    • The comment column can be sorted.

Tip
Changes to Column Widths are Now Retained

Changes to a column's width is applied to the same column in other design lists, and is retained from session to session.
