1. Collabphere 2019 Filling Up!


Collabsphere (formerly MWLUG) will be help at the Hilton Hotel in Woburn, Massachusetts on October 28-30, 2019 for the eleventh annual MWLUG/CollabSphere conference. This three-day conference focuses on IBM and HCL B2B application and collaboration technology. Come meet with your fellow IT and business professionals and share your experiences and best practices. This event is filling up quickly but there are still rooms available. The cost is only $100!

2. Howard Greenberg from TLCC to Speak at Collabsphere

Howard Greenberg from TLCC will be doing a session in partnership with Jesse Gallagher from I Know Some Guys. We will demonstrate the use of FullCalendar in a Notes/Domino application. FullCalendar is the most popular open source full size calendar used in web applications. Come see how you can use this great looking calendar in your web applications (even XPages) using data stored in Domino and retrieved via REST services. This session will cover how to implement FullCalendar using XPages (as an example) including how to customize the calendar for your needs to display calendar entries in a monthly, weekly, daily or list format. No XPages? No problem! Learn how to use tools from OpenNTF to simplify the create of REST services and enable the use of modern technologies from right within your NSF.

3. Beta of Notes and Domino V11 Now Available

HCL has released the public beta of Notes and Domino V11. Notes 11 has a new streamlined user interface and there are quite a few new features for both Domino and Notes.

4. Fix Pack 3 for Notes and Domino 10.0.1 is Now Available

HCL has released Fix Pack 3 for Notes and Domino 10.0.1. This contains numerous fixes to the Notes client and Domino server. Fix Pack 3 can be downloaded from HCL using the FlexConnect website.

5. Traveler 10 Fix Pack 2 Available

HCL has released Fix Pack 2 for Traveler 10. This release is applicable to Traveler 10 running on both Domino 10 and 9. The fix contains numerous fixes including new APNS (Apple) certificates to replace the ones that expire in October, 2019.

6. HCL releases new AppDev Pack

HCL has released a new version of the AppDev Pack. This is for developers looking to integrate web applications (node.js) into Domino.

7. Nomad (Notes running on iPad and more) Future Directions

HCL has a new blog post that describes where Nomad (running Notes applications on other devices) is heading. Version 1.04 is now available in the Apple App Store for iPads. This is the product previously known as Domino Mobile Apps. There are new features including new LotusScript capabilities including the ability to get the GPS location of the device in LotusScript along with new functions to determine the type of device in use. Plus, now Nomad can display the user's mail files.

The beta versions of Nomad for the iPhone and Android are now available as well. HCL continues work on a desktop web browser version of Nomad, allowing your Notes applications to run on Chrome with no extra installations of programs needed.

8. No-charge Courses and Resources at TLCC's site

TLCC offers several demonstration and complete courses at no cost. The demonstration courses work just like the actual TLCC course but contain a subset of the lessons. The following demonstration and full courses are available:
