Enable the Selection Column in Notes Mail
This tip is taken from a lesson in TLCC's Notes 8 user courses. These courses are a great way to show your users all the new features in Notes 8. You can easily deploy the courses to all your users by simply placing them on your Domino server. The courses can be taken with a Notes client or a web browser. The content in the courses can be easily customized to fit your organization's needs. An integrated discussion database is used to allow the student to ask questions of an instructor/support person. A list of topics in the course can be deployed in the Notes 8 sidebar to allow for a quick reference. Try out TLCC's Notes 8 user course for yourself at no charge!

By default, Notes Mail does not include the Selection Column on the left side of its views to select multiple messages. However, as the following image shows, the Selection Column can be enabled if you prefer to select mail messages using this familiar interface.
To enable the Selection Column for mail, select the additional option to 'Show check marks in margin for selected documents' on the Basic Notes Client Configuration page in the Notes Preferences. In addition to the mail views, this setting applies to any view that uses the Java views, like those in the local Contacts application. |
