1. Next Webinar: Back from the Dead: When Bad Code Kills a Good Server

It's Friday and a new customer calls. Their mission critical app is taking :05 to open documents and the users are quite concerned. Where do you start when handed a 20 year old application you have never seen, on a server you barely know? Join two IBM Champions as they dissect a complex Domino performance problem from both the administration and development side to provide a complete customer solution. The session includes best practices around problem solving techniques and a checklist you can use internally to solve quickly problems you encounter.

This webinar will take place on May 2nd at 10:30 AM to noon (New York time).

2. Interim Fixes for Notes and Domino 9.0.1 Fix Pack 8

IBM has released Interim Fix 1 for Notes and Domino Fix Pack 8. The Notes client fix includes an important fix for Domino Designer that prevented the use of the JavaScript editor when the application was using a managed bean. The Domino server includes two important fixes, one to fix a performance issue if using the new feature to move the view indexes outside the nsf file and another bug that caused the setting to run form validation on an XPage when saving to never trigger. Below is the complete list of fixes.

Notes Fixes
SSJS editor stops working in an NSF with a managed bean
Form Validation not working on an XPage
XPages iNotes calendar control icons do not display the correct hover help text

Domino Fixes
Add new JNI wrappers to jNotes
If the tag includes some illegal characters, will be output not commentted as before.
After upgrade to FP8, with disclaimers enabled, .pdf attachments have content-transfer-encoding of binary
Perf issue w/ nifnsf enabled.
Form Validation not working on an XPage
